چکیده

Detailed tests and characterizations were used to investigate the corrosion degradation behaviors of Ti6Al4V alloys in simulated marine environments. Corrosion behavior of metals and alloys in marine-industrial environment.

This work deals with atmospheric corrosion to assess the degrading effects of air pollutants on ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys, which are mostly used as engineering materials. An exposure study was conducted in the Tuticorin port area located on the east coast of South India, in the Gulf of Mannar with Sri Lanka to the southeast. Common engineering materials, namely mild steel, galva...

Tribological and corrosion behaviors of warm-and hot-rolled Ti-13Nb-13Zr alloys in simulated body fluid conditions

Development of submicrocrystalline structure in biomedical alloy such as Ti-13Nb-13Zr (in wt%) through warm-rolling process has been found to enhance mechanical properties compared to conventional thermomechanical processing routes including hot-rolling process. The present study investigated the tribological and corrosion behaviors of warm-rolled (WR) and hot-rolled Ti-13Nb-13Zr alloys which h...

The Role of Coal Ash in the Corrosion Performance of Structural Alloys in Simulated Oxy-fuel Environments

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Fossil Energy is intensely promoting research and development of oxy-fuel combustion systems that employ oxygen, instead of air, for burning the fuel. The resulting flue gas primarily consists of H2O and CO2 that facilitates sequestration of CO2 or use it in a turbine to generate electricity, thereby leading to reduction in CO2 emissions. Also, as t...

Corrosion and runoff rates of Cu and three Cu-alloys in marine environments with increasing chloride deposition rate.

Bare copper sheet and three commercial Cu-based alloys, Cu15Zn, Cu4Sn and Cu5Al5Zn, have been exposed to four test sites in Brest, France, with strongly varying chloride deposition rates. The corrosion rates of all four materials decrease continuously with distance from the coast, i.e. with decreasing chloride load, and in the following order: Cu4Sn>Cu sheet>Cu15Zn>Cu5Al5Zn. The patina on all m...
